How to measure the appeal of an employer brand

Why employer rankings help reveal the strength of an HR brand, compare it with competitors and identify weaknesses in recruitment.

Hello!

It has been a while since we last posted here.

— Why is that?

— Because we have been working on new media plans for one of the biggest events in Russian employer branding.

Preparations for the hh.ru employer ranking are in full swing: you can apply until 25 June to see how your current and potential employees rate your company.

We will not describe the entire research design and process. Instead, let us discuss why it is worth taking part.

Rankings such as hh.ru, ECOPSY and Habr show how appealing your company is to employees. And how appealing your competitors are.

Why does this matter?

When we advertise vacancies, the strength of an employer brand can be the deciding factor. Especially in high-volume recruitment, where salaries and tasks are much the same, but attitudes towards the company can differ.

Even if you are a small company, it is worth starting to work on your HR brand: look at the reviews employees leave, what they like and what they feel is missing.

These rankings highlight strengths and weaknesses and bring to light problems you may not have known existed.

But for the survey to work, you need enough respondents among both current employees and external job seekers. Recruiting your own employees is the easy part.

Then the challenge begins: how do you get people to vote for a company they do not even work for?
